Growing the Drop-Tine Seed Company

“In the beginning I looked around and, not finding the automobile of my dreams, decided to build it myself” -Ferdinand Porsche

In the course of helping clients find food plot products that maximize the productivity of their properties I realized that there are many more customers who can use these products. As a result, the Drop-Tine Seed Company was created. I’ve seen all the trials and research, now I want to hear what the real world thinks.

I’m super excited to announce that after 13 years of consulting, I’ve decided to launch the Drop-Tine Seed Company. I simply got tired of waiting for someone to supply my clients (and my deer!) with quality, reliable seeds & service so I decided to get it done myself. I’m reaching out to the best growers and hand picking the All Stars. Drop-Tine Seeds will be transparent, always allowing you inside the bag to dig through the final product and see exactly what’s inside. In the spring of 2015 I will start with my all-time favorite perennial legumes all in one blend designed for a relatively large portion of the whitetails range. While taking orders and allowing you to try that blend I’m busy developing my favorite perennial legume varieties for the more southerly regions of the whitetail’s range. I’m currently working with growers from all over the world to keep tabs on the best performing varieties for wildlife food plots. Many food plot marketing companies claim to be doing the same; however, their focus on price point building for the box stores cheapens the end products in your food plot.

Drop-Tine Started as a Service Business

One of the advantages of starting as a service business has been the requirement to remain independent. A consultant’s next paycheck is never guaranteed and is always a function of how satisfied his clients are. I’ve always felt it was important to be able to sort through the market confusion while representing my clients and find only the products that work for their specific application. It’s certainly challenging but equally necessary.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the bag design it’s certainly not final…just a proof of concept. I’ve been spending most of my time on the products that I will put in the bag. I don’t want to spend too much time on the bag design, after all that added expense only inflates the cost of my product. It’s not what’s on the bag that concerns me it’s the SCIENCE behind what’s in the bag that gets my attention! I’ve learned a lot from being inside the industry and my sole goal is to utilize this experience and knowledge to provide you with the best products and service available.

I want to hear what YOU want in your food plot blends. What seems to work best for you? In the coming months I will be revealing products that will cover both the perennials and annuals. My products will include top performing varieties from some of my favorite Brassicas, clover, chicory, alfalfa, soybeans and cereal grains from leading growers.

Stay tuned and contact me if you want in as all of these products will be limited and on a first come first serve basis. I expect to sell out of every product.
Thank you for following me as the Drop-Tine Seed Company grows and I’m looking forward to earning your business!
