The kinks have been worked out of this top shelf brassica blend over the last 25 years on intensively managed properties throughout the whitetails range. Fall Fuel™ was the first food plot blend to incorporate Impact Forage Collards, that deer absolutely devour. Jason designed this brassica dominant blend for clients who were looking for maximum biomass in a cool season annual plot that hunts great all season long, especially when the cold weather (Rut) kicks in. Germinating just 2-3 days after planting, these massive leaved brassicas outgrow weeds and suppress their growth, acting as a biofumigant. Impact Forage Collards are a hybrid brassica selected to outpace other brassicas in all categories including crude protein and digestibility and their massive tap root penetrates deep into the soil. Equally as important, Impact Forage Collards have been identified as one of the most beneficial cover crop species for soil health by reducing soil erosion, breaking up soil compaction, enhancing soil aggregation, improving nutrient cycling and building organic matter in the soil.

If that’s not enough the remaining 7 brassicas are deer favorites as well. Nitro Radish is a leading radish that breaks vertical holes in the soil profile as its deep taproot plunges up to 6 feet into the soil. This bio-drilling effect improves water infiltration, decreases soil compaction and allows the plants to mine deep in the soil profile to sequester nutrients before they leach through the effective root zone. The huge radish carcasses act as nutrient storage tanks placing much needed nutrients for your follow up crop; In other words, FREE organic fertilizer is readily available for your next plot!
